Probes - An Exploration of the society's self inflicted wounds

Explanations are weary. Specially the ones which are excuse cum explanations. People avoid making a simple straightforward statement at its inception stage and when things go haywire in comes all the explanations, this is why this was done, this happened, there was no other alternatives . Are explanations nothing but the ribbon decorated excuses? Do we see beyond the pretty decoration to realize how shallow and baseless these  explanations are? Or do we believe it to be the conclusion to the situation?
If explanations that people happily provides us, are nothing but the coloured version of the dark gloomy truth, why do we concentrate on the colour that is painted on top of it. And when the colour fades away, the situation is long buried and out of reach.  When actions are inversely proportional to the explanations, how can we not hear what is obviously been heard through  the silence. If one assures us it is that route A that should be traveled and then brings up a convenient explanation for traveling in route B, is not that more of an excuse rather than an explanation? So why does an explanation gets a royal treatment compared to a lousy excuse? Why is it that we find peace in the explanations when its nothing but a fully manifested excuse with of course a pretty little decoration on the top. And most importantly how much of excuses can we digest before succumbing into an emotional blast ?
The truth is, we lack the courage to recognize the lousy excuse presented to us in the form of a gift wrapped explanation, so we avoid it, ignore it,  instead of scraping  the truth like scraping the burnt parts of a tortilla. But all we do is ACCEPT THESE burnt parts hoping that these pieces will not stain the dish, will  not be seen when we serve it to the world. But you cant stop it from tasting like its burnt can we now ?. So  the real question is do we chew and swallow it and pretend that it is a fine tortilla or do we spit it out and throw it to the bin?
